Water: Water when soil completely dries, don't water much during winter, try avoiding watering during the middle of extreme heat.
Soil: Fast-draining.

This beast is ferocious-looking but the spines are soft! It is a shame that this Aloe is so rare; I would love to see a garden filled with them. I've had this Aloe growing in my greenhouse for several years now and even though it can get down to 30°F in there, I wouldn't recommend it.
