Euphorbia polygona 'Snowflake' is a columnar succulent that forms dense, ribbed stems heavily coated in a thick, powdery white farina (white waxy coating), giving the entire plant a frost-covered appearance. Newly emerging growth tips open with a pale green hue and tiny reddish cyathia (modified spiky leaves that encloses the flowers) buds before quickly developing the signature 'Snowflake' chalky-white coating as the stems mature. It branches readily from the base over time, forming an cluster of heavily ribbed, spiny columns with dark purple to black floral bracts. In cultivation, it requires a site with morning sun, half day sun, dappled light, for full sun. Requires extremely well-draining, gritty succulent mix. Its cultivar name 'Snowflake' refers to the chalky, brilliant white farina that blankets the ribbed stems, while the species name polygona derives from Greek roots meaning "many-angled," referencing its deeply ribbed stem structure.
