Mat-forming succulent with essentially stemless, club-shaped leaves that grow mostly buried, showing only their translucent, window-tipped ends above the soil. Produces small clusters of white or yellow daisy-like flowers, typically blooming in fall through spring. A mimicry plant adapted to blend in with the gravelly desert it grows in, using its leaf windows to photosynthesize while staying protected underground. Commonly grown in a sandy, well-draining succulent mix with bright light. Water more often during spring and autumn, sparingly during summer, kept especially dry in winter
