Glossy heart-shaped leaves with pink veins and silvery mottles. Brownish purple underside. Vine-growing. Appreciates higher humidity and heat. Avoid noon and afternoon sun. Each leaf can reach ~10". 
Natural white and black cystoliths can be found dotting throughout the plant. Pipers produces crystoliths by expelling calcium oxalate to regulate excess calcium and (to a lesser degree) heavy metals buildup within the plant. These crystals also have exalic acid that helps deter herbivore pests. Crysts come out white and eventually oxidizes to black.
