Platycerium superbum is a fairly fuzzy species of Staghorn Fern that produces a more-pronounced shield.
Platycerium ferns are one of the most fascinating plant; they can be found in tropical areas growing as big as SUVs on tree trunks! Many people will grow this plant mounted on wood planks with long fiber sphagnum moss as media, others will grow it in soil in a pot- however you grow it just make sure that they are allowed to dry out very slightly. Most species of Platycerium do not like to remain constantly wet. If grown as a mounted plant they will probably need to be watered slightly more often than pot-grown plants.
Some people throw banana peels into the soil line to provide plant with extra potassium for a healthier frond growth.
