Platycerium veitchii is a fairly sun and cold-hardy staghorn fern with silvery-greyish / blue-green fronds covered in a dense layer of fine, velvety trichome (hair). This species is able to grow in more sun than many others due to genetics and their protective trichome shielding it from the hottest sun. The shield frond turns brown fairly quicky.
